National Pride Service Report: March 3-10
A summary of the recent work conducted by the National Pride Serivice.

Unlike another unofficial federal agency with a name that rhymes with "dirge", we intend to provide regular summaries of our work. Mostly so you can take social media breaks without worrying about missing what we publish.
For our reports, we are planning to include all of the links from the recent posts we made along with our Ranger-led activities and some links from other publications or movements that we found interesting. Please bear with us as we find the right cadence for this report. We're going to aim for weekly but since we have a very small staff, we might switch this up on occasion so that people get time for rest and to participate in other service opportunities.
Our most recent work included getting the website live. You can read about that in this post here:

We also restored the LGBTQ+ Heritage Featured Places page that was deleted from the National Park Services website. One of our favorite parts of this post was learning about Public Universal Friend, a genderless preacher who traveled across Northeast America during the late 1700s. Read about the Friend's house and other fabulous LBGTQ+ spots here:

Our most recent Ranger-led activity is called "You Exist". If you need an opportunity to ground yourself, complete the activity here:

Reading and resources
Some other recent readings of interest include:
- Activists recreating the CDC website w/o the bigotry: A new archive restores all of the valuable health information that the new leaders of the agency removed minus those terrible, inaccurate messages about "gender ideology".
- Fantastic protest art at Stonewall National Monument: The Gay Liberation statues have been getting a lot of makeovers recently. We approve!
- Transgender people in North Carolina no longer required to provide proof of surgery to correct birth certificates: Some good news amidst all the chaos.
- A small but mighty act of bravery in Texas: A man was fired for refusing to remove pronouns from his email signature because "I do not believe that the LGBTQ+ community – trans individuals, non-binary, intersex or any individuals who choose to display their preferred pronouns – deserve to be made political collateral or to be put on the chopping block."
A request for aid
We received one request for aid this week from the Black Trans Texas Connection. They need $200 to cover their electricity bill. Please consider helping them.
That's all for this report! If you want to get more frequent updates from your National Pride Service, follow us on Bluesky or Mastodon.
Until next time, please remember we are GLAD you exist! Thank you for reading and following along.
